Mohd. Fadzli Bin Mohamad Isa received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2004 after receiving a degree in Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) in 2001. He graduated as a psychiatrist with a Master of Psychological Medicine (MPM) from Universiti Malaya in 2012. Two years later, he was accepted into the addiction psychiatry sub-specialty training programme under the Ministry of Health, Malaysia and completed the training with a 1-year experience at Turning Point, Melbourne.
He is a firm believer of a good work-life balance concept as he juggles his duty as a psychiatrist and the Head of Addiction Psychiatry Unit, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, while at the same time being a husband and a father of four young children. He is also the current Yang Di-Pertua of Badan Kebajikan Psikiatri, Hospital Kuala Lumpur. He previously served in hospitals in Kedah and Negeri Sembilan. He plays rugby and tennis. He is active in providing mental health support in crises and disasters as shown by his appointment as coordinator and team leader for relief works. He has appeared several times on national tv and radio for mental health promotions and his writings about this and topics on addiction has been published by both print and electronic media. He has also produced not less than 8 articles for academic journals with his research interest covering general psychiatric care, alcohol, heroin and methamphetamine use disorder.
