Dr Shaiful Bahari Ismail is a Professor of Family Medicine. He graduated from University Malaya (MBBS), Malaysia in 1992. He completed his postgraduate training in the MMED (Family Medicine) in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 1999 and in the same year obtained his MAFP/FRACGP (Australia). In the year 2006, he completed his 1-year Fellowship training in Male Sexual and Reproductive Health at Monash University, Australia. He is also a Fellow of the European Society of Sexual Medicine (FECSM). He is currently the Dean, School of Medical Sciences, USM and Chair, Malaysian public medical schools Dean’s council. He is also the member of Malaysian Medical Council. His research interests are Medical Education, chronic diseases especially Diabetes Mellitus and hypertension, and research in the area of sexual and reproductive health. He has involved in more than 50 multinational clinical trials and clinical research mainly in the area of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia and obesity. He has also involved in many herbal and honey trials especially in the area of sexual and reproductive health. He has more than 50 publications at national and international levels.
