ASSOCIATE PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICER
Dr. Susheela Balasundaram graduated from Kasturba Medical College, India and obtained her MSc Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She started work with refugees in 2002 with a group of volunteers who initiated mobile primary care services for refugees in Kuala Lumpur. She joined MSF Belgium (Doctors without Borders) in 2006, providing mobile clinic services to refugees around the KL and in detention centres. She joined UNHCR Malaysia in 2007 to coordinate their health and assistance programmes. She has served in 2 refugee emergencies - in Uganda in 2014 for the South Sudan conflict and in 2017- Cox’s Bazar Bangladesh.
